Regele Egiptului se confrunt\u0103 cu provocarea de a desemna un nou general, a c\u0103rui misiune este s\u0103 resping\u0103 invazia armatei etiopiene. \u00cen mijlocul acestei situa\u021bii se afl\u0103 t\u00e2n\u0103rul Radames, care viseaz\u0103 s\u0103 ob\u021bin\u0103 aceast\u0103 onoare. \u00cens\u0103, destinul \u00eei rezerv\u0103 o \u00eencercare dur\u0103: Radames este \u00eendr\u0103gostit de Aida, o prin\u021bes\u0103 etiopian\u0103 care a fost capturat\u0103 \u0219i transformat\u0103 \u00een sclav\u0103 la curtea din Memphis. Alegerea sa ca general \u00eel va obliga s\u0103 lupte \u00eempotriva poporului Aidei, inclusiv \u00eempotriva tat\u0103lui ei, regele Amonasro.<\/p>\n<p>Victoria egiptenilor aduce nu doar glorie, ci \u0219i o doz\u0103 de gelozie. Amneris, fiica faraonului, nutre\u0219te sentimente pentru Radames \u0219i \u00eencepe s\u0103 b\u0103nuiasc\u0103 c\u0103 acesta are o afec\u021biune secret\u0103 pentru Aida. Pentru a descoperi adev\u0103rul, Amneris o supune pe Aida unei probe emo\u021bionale crunte, pref\u0103c\u00e2ndu-se c\u0103 Radames a murit.
